This week in class we:
– discussed and applied addition strategies in maths,
– learned how to classify invertebrates in science,
– wrote a fact-file on the Clydebank Blitz during World War II,
– built bridges as part of a Halloween STEM challenge, and
– led our school All Saints Day Mass.

Everyone enjoyed their 1st session back at Lego Club. They worked incredibly well in their roles as Engineer, Supplier and Builder to finally complete the model moped. They are working on becoming experts in the 3 roles, in order to train other children who will get an invitation to join Lego Club in the New Year!

A reminder that the Parent Group annual Halloween disco is tomorrow. Primaries 1-3 will be in the afternoon from 1.00pm-2.30pm. Parents are welcome to collect their child/ children to take them home and get them into their costumes, returning to school for 12.50pm. Alternatively, children can bring their costumes with them and change at school.
The Disco for the children in primaries 4-7 will be in the evening from 6.00pm-7.30pm. There will be a fee of £1 which children can pay at the door.

A huge thank you to all our St Joseph’s nursery boys and girls for coming along to our Halloween parties. It was a spooktacular day from pumpkin carving to ghost bowling and potion making! All the costumes were fantastic!
The Feast of All Saints will be celebrated with Mass in the school at 10.00 am on Friday the 1st of November. All parishioners are welcome to join us in the celebration of Mass. The Big Spooky Read will now take place on Friday the 8th of November in the school hall between 8.30 am and 9.15 am. Children and family members are all welcome to attend and dress up in their Hallow e’en costumes to join in the fun.

The nursery had great fun today relaunching our big big time read in our pj’s with our favorite teddies! We had nice warm hot chocolate and marshmallow’s they were delicious!
