P5/6 – Outdoor learning in the sun

Today P6/5 throughly enjoyed some time outdoors in the sunshine challenging each other in maths. As you can see, some calculations were very tricky!!!

P6/5 getting creative with their own musical and percussion instruments.

Primary 6/5 were tasked with creating a musical/percussion instrument at home and bringing it in to share with the class. Well done everyone, they look (and sound) fantastic!

This week in P2…

We have been learning:

to read and spell words using the sound ‘ss’
about position, direction and symmetry
about Selkies and the Blue Men of Minch

P6/5 Kids go Wild – Free play outdoors

This afternoon we were given the opportunity to take part in some outdoor creative free play. Kids go Wild provided us with some resources and we put them to good use.

Titanic Topic – Parental Engagement Session

P5.4 and P6.5 are excited to start a new cross-curricular topic all about the Titanic and we need your help! We are holding a parental engagement session on Friday 13th March from 09:15am – 10:00am. This will be a collaborative working session with teachers, parents and pupils to brainstorm, share ideas and shape the planning for our new topic.

If you cannot attend, we would still value your input and will send home a brief form to capture any of your ideas and suggestions.

to describe what we know about our new topic, the Loch Ness Monster

P6/5 Outdoor Learning

Last week we spent time in the garden inspecting soil samples.

We found snails, lots of worms and even a centipede!

We used magnifying glasses and microscopes to get a better look at things. The worms were very interesting up close and we found tiny pieces of glass in the soil that “sparkled like diamonds”
