Hi all,
The Parent Council will be hosting an EGM on Monday 3rd June at 7pm which will be held in St Joseph’s Chapel Hall.
This is to vote in a new Chairperson and Secretary to allow the Parent Council to move forward and continue to support the school in a positive manner. If anyone is interested in either post email stjosephspcwhitburn@hotmail.com and we will forward on details of responsibilities. There will be some paper copies on the night as well.
The voting will take place at the meeting after nominations have been received. Please ensure you speak to the person before nominating them. You are also welcome to put yourself forward for the posts. We require these posts to be filled to ensure a parent council can carry on.
Everyone is welcome to this meeting. This is your Parent Council, therefore, as well as filling these posts we want to hear any suggestions or questions you have.
We hope to see you all there.

Sessions have now resumed after the Easter break, if your child is interested in trying something new and has an interest in sport then sessions are taking place across the Whitburn Cluster in Athletics, Dance, Judo, Netball and Swimming. With sessions starting at just £2 per week there are plenty of opportunities for pupils to get active in time for Summer. For more information please see the attached and contact Ben Boatman, Active Schools Coordinator on ben.boatman@westlothian.gov.uk

Thank you to everyone who attended our Community showing of Resilience. If you were unable to attend you would be more than welcome to go to one of our local schools who are also showing the film. Some of the comments that were left last night included:
“Amazing work being done in St Joseph’s”
“I was totally unaware that all this work was going on”
“…open evenings in other schools with the movie to increase awareness”
Look out for further information on our “Conversation Cafes” coming soon.
Remember tonight – Wednesday 30th January 2019 For one night only! Resilience – The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope. Don’t miss the opportunity to join the discussion with Suzanne Zeedyk (Author and Research Scientist in the field of child development). It would be great to have at least one person from each family to join representatives of the local and wider community.
