They’ve been practising keeping the rhythm and playing together as a group.

Science Week in P4
P4 have enjoyed a wide variety of activities during science week.
We started with a visit from the Glasgow Science Centre where we attended the Fossil Fuels Science Show. We then got to participate in a ‘Powering the Future’ workshop.
In class, we learned about helicopters and experimented with paper versions.
Later in the week, we explored SCRATCH, an online coding website, and created our own animations.
We like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to all our fantastic parents who came into class and shared information about their careers in the Science and Engineering Industries.
Mr Wards also brought in his 3D printer with some cool objects that had been 3D printed. Some even glowed in the dark!
Science Week in P1
Primary 1 enjoyed a wide variety of learning experiences during British Science Week.
On Monday we enjoyed a visit from the Glasgow Science Centre. They brought along their Fitness Lab so that we could learn about our amazing bodies.
We also had a visit from Mr Wards who brought in his 3D printer plus some cool objects that he’s printed. Some even glowed in the dark!
Mrs Thomson also brought in her Tesla car and told us about renewable energy and how cars can be more environmentally friendly.
Thanks also to all the Mums and Dads who came along and spoke to us about their careers in the Science and Engineering industries. You were all brilliant!!
P1 had a busy day today!
Phew! We worked hard today!
In literacy, we were learning all about our new sound ‘o’, practising our common words ‘on’, ‘for’ and ‘it’, making CVC jigsaw words and making words with our new sound ‘o’.
In Maths, we were learning about the value of different coins and buying and selling things from our class shop.
P4 STEM Challenge
P4 have had a busy week this week. On Thursday we had fun learning about STEM with our Lego WeDo kits.
We built Milo our Mars Rover and used the Ipad to control its movements.
Wonder what we’ll design and built next week? 🤔
Science in P6
This week P6D were learning about stored (potential) energy. We discussed rechargeable batteries and how animals (and humans) get their energy from the food that they eat. We now know that sloths move very slowly because their diet mainly consists of leaves which contain carbohydrates. Cheetahs on the other hand eat meat which contains carbohydrates, proteins and fat, allowing them to have much more energy and move a lot faster.
Finally we made catapults that use rubber bands to store energy. This allowed us to fire balls across the classroom!
P6F World Book Day
What a busy day P6F had today. We arrived in our pyjamas with our favourite books and took part in lots of fun, book related, activities.
One of our tasks was to complete a book related crossword. Our phones came in handy when looking for some of the answers!
This afternoon, we had several very well behaved visitors from P1. Natalia brought in a Polish/English book from home and read it to our young visitors. The rest of P6 also enjoyed hearing the story. Well done!
We also went on a scavenger hunt to find book references. The library turned out to be a very good place to look. Great teamwork from everyone today 👍
A few of other activities included;
- Designing a mask of our favourite character from a book (winners to be announced during tomorrow’s assembly)
- Making a bookmark
- Taking part in the BBC Live lesson
What a fun day! 🙂
