Good afternoon to all of our P6 families!

This week in P6B we have been working hard to be ready, respectful and safe and follow our class charter.

The right of the week: This week we were learning about article 1 and article 42. The children have been learning that everyone under the age of 18 have all of the rights in the convention and we need to work together to ensure our rights are respected.

Reading: We have started our class novel ‘Wonder’ and the children are enjoying reading together and following the story. They created posters on kindness and learned about different precepts they can use to help them make the right decisions. ‘Never judge a book by its cover’ and ‘Treat others as you wish to be treated’ were some examples they thought of.

The children have also enjoyed ERIC time (everyone reading in class) and exploring the books on GetEpic. This week our reading champion was Monique who read the most books online.

Numeracy: We have been learning about place value and successfully adding and subtracting using a range of different strategies. They also had a lot of fun playing Prodigy maths and now have their logins to play at home too. Our wizard of the week was Connor, well done!

Writing: The children enjoyed free writing Friday and we had a great range of different writing styles throughout the class. They enjoyed the freedom of choice and created their own comics, acrostic poems,  creative stories and writing facts.

Art: The children created excellent colour wheel umbrellas and learned about hot and cold colours.

Hot Chocolate Award: Congratulations to Caiden for going ”over and above” throughout the week!

Have a great weekend,

Mrs Roy
