St John Ogilvie RC Primary

Curriculum

This is our Curriculum Rationale.

We wrote this as a school community and this is what we want for all our pupils.

Our curriculum provides flexible and innovative learning experiences which offer depth, balance, coherence, challenge and progression. All pupils are given opportunities to develop their full potential in all areas of their learning and development, in a welcoming, safe and stimulating environment. We provide pastoral care within a positive ethos based on our Catholic principles and Christian values. Children are immersed in a culture of high expectation where we intend to inspire them to develop a love of learning and those transferable skills which will equip them for life. All pupils will feel valued and their interests will be incorporated into all areas of planning for learning. Pupils’ wider achievements are recognised and celebrated, while they have opportunities to take part in wider learning experiences, including outdoor learning.

The key words we want our children to remember from this are SAFE, INSPIRE, TRANSFERABLE SKILLS, HIGH EXPECTATIONS, INNOVATIVE and PROGRESSION.
