This week we have taken a wander in the cold to check out some of the wonderful outdoor resources that we have on our doorstep! While we went on our winter wander we practiced assessing risks on the ground, at eye level and tree level.
We will be heading outside as much as possible on a Friday so please remember to bring your warm and waterproof gear!
Once we got back we were looking at the thick ice that had formed on the top of our sandpit! We used the ice to have a science challenge. Our challenge was to stop the ice from melting! We selected our own materials and worked in groups to test different options. We did such an amazing job that the ice only melted once all the children had gone home! Isla, Lleyton, Isa, Katie and Elle’s group were the overall winners. They insulated their ice with lots and lots of newspaper.
What a fun and frosty day!
