P7 Transition booklet

Good Morning future P7!

I know at the moment some of you may be feeling slightly anxious or worried about returning to school and what this may look like for you. I completely understand these concerns as it has been a while since you were last here and when you come back some things may have changed – well one thing definitely has and that’s your teacher! To help you over summer when you are feeling a little nervous, I have attached here a transition booklet. This has some pictures of the building, staff and reminders of some of the routines. I hope it will help you feel a little better 🙂

Virtual Sports Day- 10th June 2020

Usually this term we would enjoy our annual sports day. This year things are a bit different but we will still be able to enjoy taking part in sports day activities from our homes.

Tomorrow we will be having a Virtual Sports Day!

Your teacher will share all of the information you need tomorrow, in the same way as they normally share your learning with you.

You will have one week to complete the activities (just in case you are unable to do it tomorrow).

Look out for more information from your teacher on the Blog or Teams tomorrow.

A great big ‘Thank You’ to the Fire Brigade

As many of you know there were multiple forest fires between Fauldhouse and Greenrigg at the start of the month. Firefighters worked extremely hard to keep them under control.

A news report about the fires and photos of the devastation can be seen here:  https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburgh-news/west-lothian-fire-shocking-photos-18338586

Area Commander Farquharson, said: “We will always do our utmost to protect our communities, and to save life and property from harm at all times – but we also need the public to help us.”

We would like you to design a ‘thank you’ card that we can share with the brave fire fighters. It would be great to see some illustrations and tips on how to avoid forest fires (e.g. don’t drop cigarette butts, don’t use BBQs etc)

You can upload your design to your TEAMs page or take a photo and email it to the school wlfallahill-ps@westlothian.org.uk

Showing we care…

At Falla Hill one of our values is all about the sense of ‘belonging’.

At the moment there are many people in care homes in the village who might be feeling a bit lonely as they are not allowed their usual visitors.

Here’s where you can help…

Create a little card or letter to cheer up the residents and put a smile on their faces.

Your card can be dropped off at St John’s PS until the end of June. There will be a ‘drop-box’ to allow for social distancing.
