This week’s sound was qu so it felt like the perfect week to read one of my favourite stories, Quick Quack Quentin by Kes Gray. If you’re not familiar with the story, poor Quentin has a very quick quack. He has lost his a and can only say ‘qu ck’ so he borrows some ‘a’ sounds from other animals. However, they don’t want to share because their names sound a bit odd!
We took the vowels out of our names to see if we would like to help Quentin out…
In Beyond Number, we were using non-standard measures (our hands!) to measure items in the playground.
