As it is Mental Health Awareness week I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for us to take a little time out to centre ourselves. Remember that squeeze can be a good way for us to self-regulate. Here is a little video below, why not get your grown up to ‘squeeze’ along with you!
A1 have the opportunity to participate in Squeeze each day if they feel it is useful and most really enjoy it and feel the benefits.
Today we are going to complete all the work we have been doing on 3D shape before we begin something new next week.
Let’s sing my favourite 3D shape song
Now think of your favourite 3D shape
Think about it’s properties – faces, edges, corners – are they flat, straight or curved – try to describe it to a family member and see if they can guess what shape it is
Try it with a few more 3D shapes
Your shape activities for this morning have been set on Study Ladder. Complete the following activities:
Objects match and Objects in the environment
Next complete pages 12 and 13 of your TeeJay Shape Workbook (A9)
The purpose of today’s activity is to practise writing the high frequency words ‘into’, ‘big’ and ‘little’ in isolation and to complete sentences. Remember to read your sentences over to ensure they make sense. Happy writing!
We loved your leafy animals so much last week that we thought we would stick with the nature animal theme. Today, we are going to create an animal using stones. You can choose whether you want to paint or chalk your stones or you might want to arrange different stones to make your animal. Use your imagination and get creative!
We cannot wait to see what you make! Please send us pictures of your finished animal.
This afternoon I have another narrative language task for you to complete. This week we are going to focus on when.
First I would like you to listen to our story for today which is Night Monkey, Day Monkey by Julia Donaldson.
Then I have written some questions for your parent or carer to ask you.
When do you give each other presents?
When do we need to see a dentist?
When do we see fireworks in the sky?
When do we brush our teeth?
When do we go to bed?
When does it snow?
When do we play with our friends?
When do we need to see a doctor?
When do we go to school?
Finally, I would like for you and your parent or carer to get a calendar and have a look through it and see if you can pick out special events and when they happen. Things like birthdays and holidays.
Hope you have fun with these activities this afternoon!
