P2/3 Literacy 21/4/20

Good morning P2/3!

Are we all ready for our #PEwithJoe this morning? I know I am!

After your morning workout I would like you to have a look through the powerpoint attached below – it’s all about the First Man on the Moon! After that, I would love you to have a go at the quiz to see what you have learned – it’s a bit like the quiz show Who Wants to be a Millionaire and I thought it would be a fun way to do some comprehension.

Let’s have a great day 🙂

Good afternoon A1

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed the sunshine.

If you have managed to get out for your daily exercise you may have noticed lots of rainbows in windows, so I thought we would base our STEM experiments around rainbows this afternoon!

There are 3 different experiments for you to try, all you need is kitchen roll and water, baking soda, vinegar and food colouring (things I hope you have in your house already).

If you can upload your pictures to Twitter or send some photos to Mrs Bryce I would live to see how you get on.

Happy Easter

So we have come to the end of our first 2 weeks of learning at home. Well done to everyone for putting in the effort to get through your learning, whether from your home learning packs, on the Blog or through Teams. It has not been easy for any of us so you should all be very proud of yourselves.

I want to wish everyone a very happy, healthy Easter. Take care and stay safe as well as have fun. Looking forward to hearing from you all on Monday 20th April when school starts back.

P2/3 Maths 02/04/20 Circles

Hi Circles.

Are we ready for our daily David Walliams fix?

http://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

For maths today I want you to go on a symmetry hunt! Where can you spot lines of symmetry around your house? Or in the garden? Or on your daily walk? Can you take some pictures and upload them to twitter? Remember a line of symmetry shows that the object is exactly the same on both sides.

I also challenge you to tell an adult the time at 5 different points throughout the day!

Have fun everyone!

P2/3 Storywriting

Good morning P2/3. I hope you are all well. Who ready for their daily workout with Joe Wicks this morning? I know I am!

For storywriting this morning, I would like you to complete a book review of your favourite book, possibly the one you have been reading over the last week or two. The sheet is in your pack but I have attached a copy for those who have no pack – you could complete in your jotter or even on a sheet of paper.

Book Review

I would really love to read your book reviews so if you can upload a picture onto our Twitter @wlblackburnps that would be fantastic!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Miss McLuckie 🙂

P2/3 French & RME

Good afternoon P2/3.

I hope you are having a lovely day so far.

For French I would like to complete the Spring Colour by Number worksheets – let’s see who can remember their colours in French!

During RME time I would like you to recreate the Easter Story and fill out the blank storyboard template in your pack – there are 8 boxes for pictures and space for a wee sentence under each picture.

I hope you are all well and are ready for some maths games this morning. I would like you to play Snakes and Ladders with a partner this morning, the template is in your pack if you don’t already have this game at home. For those of you who do not have a pack I will attach a copy here for you to print off.

If you would like to try an interactive version on the computer, here is the link (you can play the computer or play a partner on here).

Good afternoon A1

I hope you are all staying safe and having fun.

For today’s STEM lesson I would like you try out the human sundial experiment. All you need is some sunshine, some chalk and a little help to draw around your shadow.

At different times throughout the day (or even tomorrow) stand at the same spot outdoors and get an adult to draw around your shadow – what happens an hour later? 2 hours later? Does your shadow move?

For maths today I would like you to practise your numbers, forwards and backwards, to 100. Remember to use youtube to sing along to your favourite number songs.

I would like you to have a go at these sheets in your jotter. Looking forward to seeing all of your hard work – if you can comment on the blog or post to Twitter.
