IBike survey for pupils, parents & carers

Please see below a message from IBike:

Every year we ask pupils’ parents and guardians to complete a short survey to capture their thoughts on the I Bike Programme, helping us to understand what could make active travel easier for their children.

In addition to the standard questions about I Bike activities and sessions, this year the survey is also relevant for those pupils’ parents that engaged with the I Bike online activities during the lockdown school closures from March to July 2020.

The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete and the deadline for completion is the 15th November.  Please click below:

We have really loved working with IBike this session and can’t wait to work with them again!

**Please note that we will ask pupils to complete this survey in school

P6/7 Learning Walk – Final step!

Before the October break pupils and parents were asked to share the work they completed from their learning walk via this online padlet:

Here are some great examples of work we have seen so far!

Click to open ‘Learning walk 2’

Now we would like you to display the work in your chosen location in Blackburn!  How you do this is up to you.  However, we do need all work to be up by Friday at 9am.  As a class, we will be heading out  on Friday to see how many we can find!

If you haven’t already done so, please make sure an image of your child’s piece of work has been attached to the post on the padlet link.

Thank you for all the great work you have been doing and I look forward to catching up with all of our parent’s during next week’s consultations!

P6/7 Learning Walk – How to share your work!

Last week P6/7 were asked to take part in a learning walk after school with their parent/carer.  As part of this challenge they were also asked to create a piece of work.  Now it’s time to share their creations and explore the work of others!

Pupils and parents should choose a location in Blackburn to exhibit the work they have created.  How you exhibit it is up to you!

Once you have chosen your location please share it here by Thursday: https://padlet.com/missandersonbps/4hkn7unneuiu64oh

You can do this by adding a new post, typing the location (be as specific as possible e.g. street name, name of the building etc.) and include a picture of the work.

***Please don’t physically exhibit the work until after the October holiday!  More details will be shared after the holiday regarding the final step to this challenge!

P6/7 Home Learning – Learning Walk

This week we are asking P6/7 pupils to take part in a learning walk after school with their parent/carer.  This should be completed (along with the follow up piece of work) by Monday 5th October.

How to take part:

  • Set aside at least 30 minutes
  • Keep any devices in your pocket until the end
  • Each person should speak for at least 5 minutes uninterrupted about their ‘best learning experience’
  • After each person has spoken take a moment in silence to notice where you are and if you are drawn to anything in your surroundings.
  • Finally, spend some time talking about what either of you found interesting. You can also take this opportunity to ask each other questions.
  • Create a piece of follow up work together inspired by your experience. You could create an artwork, build a model, make a video, write a story or  a song.  These are just suggestions, the possibilities are endless!
  • Details regarding how to share this piece of work will be provided on Monday 5th
  • If you have any questions please get in touch with Miss Anderson

P6/7 pupils completed this activity with a partner in school a couple of weeks ago.  Here are some examples of work they created to inspire you!
