The Cushion Club has a different timetable every day and we do lots of different things. We have our favourites like role play, dressing up, show and tell and story time. We also do Brain Gym, music, let’s talk about something and craft. Every day we do some work like Language or Maths. We like using the i pads to support out learning.

Both Cushion Clubs have had a great week in the lead up to Christmas.  We have made Christmas Crafts, been to a pantomime and sang Christmas Songs. The pantomime was AWESOME! (Kai’s words) Aidan liked the last part best. Cameron liked the baddie and the ghost. Mrs Waddell loved the dragon. We would like to wish everyone who knows us a Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for 2014.

The Cushion clubs are getting excited because they began to open the doors in their Advent Calendar.  The classroom is decorated and they have a Christmas tree up.  Mrs Collings made calendars for 2014 with some children.  As a treat they got to watch a video for 15 minutes and they will get this every week till Christmas.  They have been listening to the Christmas Story and have one part of the story each day. The children discussed the emotions felt by the people in the Christmas story. Next week they will work together to make some Christmas crafts.

This week has been exciting in the Cushion Club because we now have two Cushion Clubs!  We have a P2/3 group and a new P1 group.  The new P1’s have been settling into our routines and enjoying working on their personal targets.  We have enjoyed having our lunch together!  We hope to get Parents in to see how well we are doing shortly.  Next week we will post some photos of what the new P1 Cushion Club has been up to.

This week the children in the Cushion Club dressed up as characters from “The Tiger Who Came to Tea” and then acted out the story.  They had great fun dressing up and being the characters.

The pupils in the Cushion Club made pancakes last week.  They measured the ingredients and after they had cooked them they all enjoyed eating them with maple syrup. Mrs Stewart was brave enough to flip hers.
