Wow! We cannot believe how fast this term has gone! We are all looking forward to the month of December. Can you guess why?
This week the class 3 children share their experiences from learning across the curriculum.
Josh: “On Out and About I went to a replica trench to learn more about WW2. I learned that soldiers had to wear helmets to avoid being shot on the head. I also learned the trench was terrible to live in. I got to wear a gas mask from WW1, it was cosy!” “In December I am looking forward to Christmas.”
Caitlin: “This week at Maths Mission we were on the computer playing a dividing game. In the game you had to move the snowman to get to the sums. In the sums you had to divide numbers. I enjoyed it because it was fun. I liked the Get Together song this week because it was a Christmas song called Jingle Bells.” “I’m looking forward to Christmas and maybe staying an afternoon at school.”
Geordie: “I really enjoyed visiting the trench, it was great fun looking at the paper and seeing how soldiers lived. During free play I tried on a British helmet, a German helmet and a gas mask. Inside the gas mask felt weird. I wouldn’t like to live in a trench. It would be cold, muddy and full of rats.”
Cary:”I enjoyed watching ‘The Boy in the Striped Pjyamas’, as it helped me learn more about the war. I learned about concentration camps. I learned about evacuees, jobs and concentration camps this week. I am looking forward to maybe coming to the Christmas fayre on Saturday, I am looking forward to buying some Christmas bags that I helped to make.”
Callum: “I really enjoyed the trench, it was very nice to go somewhere I haven’t been before. It was very nice to be in the trench, role-play and free-play were fun. I learned that soldiers slept in the trench, I went into the space where they slept. It was small and cosy. There was a bell in the trench and this rang when there was gas attack.” “In December I’m looking forward to Christmas.”
