In P3/2 we have been focussing on using our talking and listening skills this term. We have been using our talking ted to share our news every week, we have been using the mystery box to ask questions about the mystery item, we have been talking about what we see, think and feel when looking at certain scenes and we have been using our “talk talk” area to discuss and ask questions about different pictures from different periods in history. This is all part of our aim to increase our language skills which will link to our creative writing skills. This week we instroduced “Mrs Mitchell’s Big book of tales”. The children all had great fun using this book to make up stories about different objects. The aim was to make their stories as creative and interesting as possible using the story structure, joining words and wow words. Everyone had great fun listening to and making these stories up – our classroom was filled with laughter! Why not try this at home?
Hi Primary 3/2,
Your listening activities sound like really good fun and they will all help you with not only listening but with all of your learning. The Big Book of Tales sounds great. Ill have a look at what you came up with when I’m in your class next.
