P3e

We have all became Ancient Egyptian scribes this week. We have been learning about hieroglyphics which are the symbols Egyptians used to write. We designed our own cartouches and wrote our names on them in hieroglyphics. We decorated our pyramids in class using the symbols. It has also been an arty week as we have been busy creating our masterpieces for the art exhibition. We have been learning about using colour and shape to create a repeating pattern. We are looking forward to sharing our final design with the rest of the school.

In writing we have started our story about a pyramid adventure. We were learning how to use speech as a way to open a story. This is quite a difficult thing to do but we all tried really hard. The openings of our stories sound really interesting and Miss Elliot is looking forward to finding out what will happen inside the pyramids!

See you next week!

  1. Hi Primary 3e,

I enjoyed reading all about the work you have been doing on the Ancient Egyptians. Hieroglyphics are difficult to read and write so I’m very impressed with the work you have been doing with these. Do you prefer our writing or do you think symbols would have been better?

The pyramid stories sound exciting and I’m pleased that you all tried really hard to open them with speech which is a very tricky thing to do. I’m looking forward to being able to read some of the finished stories.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Miss Henderson
