P5d

Another great week!

We are very lucky in P5d to have a teaching student to help us with our learning over the next 5 weeks.

Mrs Duncan did a super lesson with us in maths this week. We were learning about dividing and we got to use match attacks to help us which we thought was great.

We are also learning about time, some of us are learning about transferring analogue into digital format using quarter to and quarter past, some are learning to work with digital time e.g. 9:50, 12:40 and others are learning about the 24 hour clock.

We did our writing through our topic this week using the writing planners we did last week to help us to construct a biography of Queen Victoria. We are becoming so much better at self assessment because we were able to check if we had all the correct dates and information before showing it to Mrs D.

We had a good time practising for the Burns poetry competition. Viggo took first place and Meadow and Brooke were runners up in P5d.

We had a great time on Thursday morning learning about our minds and how we learn. We thought about whether we are born smart or not and lots of us thought we weren’t born smart but now we have changed our opinions. What do you think ?

That’s it for another week. Have a great weekend!

  1. Hi Primary 5d,

I’m so pleased to hear that you have been so welcoming to Mrs Duncan. She will be very happy to be working with such a fabulous class. I’m impressed with how much you have been learning on how the brain works. I think that if you work hard and try your best then you will always get smarter although it’s important to remember that everyone learns in very different ways which I always find interesting. Keep up the good work, everyone.
