P3/2 Class Trip

On Wednesday 19th March, P3/2 visited Callendar House in Falkirk for a Romans workshop.  We had an absolutely brilliant day!  The workshop was very informative, we enjoyed handling some Roman artefacts and learning about what they were made of.  We found out more about the Antonine wall and got to visit the remains of it, which was great.

The boys and girls enjoyed dressing up as Roman soldiers and charging at the adults!  The shields and helmets were not too heavy but felt it in the wind!  We got the chance to explore the museum and ask questions.

Marie and Jennifer, who led the work shop, were very impressed at how knowledgeable the children were about the Romans and I (Mrs Laidlaw) was very proud of their answers.

Luckily the weather stayed dry so we enjoyed a short walk after lunch and a play at the park before returning for the bus.

P3/2 would highly recommend a visit to Callendar House.

  1. Hi Primary 3/2,

I’m so pleased that you had a great time on your visit to Callendar House and that you were able to learn more about the Romans and also share your learning with the people during the workshop. I’m glad that the weather stayed nice for you so you could play in the park.

  2. Sounds like you all had a ball at Callendar House! Skye certainly enjoyed herself! And how lucky were you with the weather that day 🙂
