This week 7M have completed 5 of the CEM tests. The pupils felt that the tests “made them think!” They completed an Attitudes Quiz, a Developed Ability Quiz, a General Maths and Arithmetic Quiz, a Reading and Spelling Quiz.
This week we learned what is needed to write persuasively and we used this knowledge and our learning of World War II evacuations to write a persuasive letter. We went in role as an evacuee and wrote a persuasive letter to our mum to allow us to come home. Some of the letters were so persuasive they brought a tear to Miss Macintyre’s eye!
Our homework task this week was to ask parents and grandparents if they knew of a family member who was living during World War II and had any interesting stories to tell. We learned that everyone had an interesting story to share from Prisoners of War, soldiers who fought bravely and received medals, soldiers who sadly died, soldiers who helped those in Concentration Camps, and woman who worked in factories. We loved looking at the letters, photographs, newspaper clippings and medals that were brought in. A thank you to the parents/ grandparents who shared WWII family stories.
In PE with Mr Jeffries the children have been learning what skills are required to play Badminton.
We also enjoyed 7b’s assembly which reminded us of the importance of working in a team.
