This week in school we explored the book Katie Morag and the Big Boy Cousins.  In this story, Katie Morag and her cousins made Granny Island feel sad by not listening to her.  We thought about how we can sometimes make people feel and wrote sorry cards to Granny Island. 

 Last week Mr MacDonald told us that the weather can be very stormy on islands.  We heard about storms in the books Katie Morag and the New Pier and Katie Morag and Tiresome Ted.  As a result, we painted our own storm pictures.  We used grey for the dark sky and blue for the sea.  We mixed a little white in the blue and used wavy brush strokes to create the waves.  We also chose a boat to stick onto our paintings and used cotton buds to create lightening in the sky and foam around the boat.  They look fabulous hanging outside our classroom.
