At the beginning of the week, P1b carefully followed instructions to make pirate hats! Kayleigh enjoyed drawing a jolly roger to place onto her hat. Using our experience, we were then able to write instructions on how to make a pirate hat.
We also learned about the four points on a compass. We worked with a partner to find North, South, East and West in the playground and then played the fun game of port and starboard!
Ava mentioned that she enjoyed learning about Red Nose Day during this week’s assembly. We learned that raising money for Red Nose Day can help less fortunate children gain their rights, such as the right to nutritious food, clean water and safe environment to live in. We will take part in Red Nose Day on the 15th March by dressing down or wearing Red clothing.
Hi Primary 1b,
Your pirate hat task sounds very interesting. Well done, Kayleigh on drawing a fantastic Jolly Roger hat. The port and starboard game sounds like a brilliant way to learn about the points on the compass. I’m glad you enjoyed the assembly and know how important it is to help children in the UK and Africa on Red Nose Day. I’m looking forward to having lots of fun on Friday 15th March.
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Henderson
