Christmas Pudding Rice Krispie Cakes

What a day we’ve had in Primary 5S!

After break we went to watch ‘Aladdin’ the pantomime in the assembly hall which was excellent. Then, after break, we visited the learning lab and made Christmas pudding rice krispie cakes.

You will need;

50g Rice Krispies, 30g raisins (optional), 100g milk chocolate, 50g butter, 30g mini marshmallows, 80g white chocolate and some red and green icing.

Method

  1. Put the butter, milk chocolate and marshmallows into a small saucepan.  Place on a medium heat and stir until the chocolate and butter have melted but the marshmallows are just beginning to melt.

  2. Pour the rice crispies into the pan and stir until well coated.  Line an egg cup, or large measuring spoon (tbs) with cling film.  Firmly press the mixture into this then remove and sit the flat side on a clean plate.  Repeat with the remaining mixture and chill until firm.

  3. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave.  Spoon a little chocolate over the top of each pudding before topping with little holly leaves and berries made from the icing.

Despite some of our mixture not binding properly we all had fun (and, as you can see from the picture below, didn’t let anything go to waste).   Thank you to the groups who were very kind and shared their mixture with others.
