Please find below details of our upcoming free online parent and carer Mental Health workshops. Each workshop provides you with the skills and knowledge required to support not only support your child’s mental health but also your own, which is particularly important when looking after others. To All Parents Carers – Come along for a Brew and A Blether

Victoria Park School’s Parent Council would like to invite all our parents and carers to come into school for a brew and a blether on Thursday the 8th February at 1.30pm. Come along to meet other parents for an informal cuppa and a chat.

For your diary: There will be another Brew and A Blether on Thursday 7th March – watch this space.

Statutory Consultation

All SLC schools have been asked to share details of this consultation. Please see message below for details.

Statutory Consultation Proposal: to alter the qualifying distance for free secondary school mainstream transport to those living over 3 miles from their catchment secondary school. (current entitlement is more than 2 miles).

The Council will be conducting a statutory consultation on the proposal to alter the qualifying distance for free secondary school mainstream transport to those living over 3 miles from their catchment secondary school. (current entitlement is more than 2 miles).

The proposal will be open to statutory public consultation from Monday 15 January to Friday 1 March 2024. Public meetings will take place during the week of the 29 January 2024.

Details on this proposal will be contained in a Consultation Proposal Document, including how to feedback any comments and how to book a place at a public meeting.

Industrial Action Tuesday 10th January

Reminder for our Parents/Carers.

School will be closed to pupils on Tuesday 10th January. For your information please refer to the parents /carers letter sent by the Head Teacher before the break regarding industrial action.

 

Parentsportal.scot is a new digital service to help replace the traditional ‘school bag run’ by providing direct communication to parents and carers through a growing suite of online services.  Through parentsportal.scot parents and carers will be able to grant permissions for school trips, view school lunch menus, view attendance, complete the annual data check, book parents evening and link directly to ParentPay to make payment for school meals, to name but a few.

From Wednesday, 11 January 2023 if your child attends a school within the Carluke Learning Community will be able to link their child and start to access the online service.

Whether you need a kitchen appliance, like a fridge, cooker or washing machine, clothing and bedding, sensory or play equipment or technology for your child or a much-needed family break, we are here to help.

You can apply for any items that will help meet your child’s additional support needs.

If you live in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland Grants you can apply for; Family breaks, clothing, computers and tablets, days out, recreational and household items, kitchen appliances, sensory toys and equipment, games, books and music, games consoles, outdoor play and leisure facilities, specialist bikes or tricycles, garden improvements or driving ambitions.
