Literacy and Numeracy / Maths in P1-4.
P1-4 have been busy this term!
We have been learning about measure in maths. Everyone has enjoyed exploring all the different ways we measure length, weight and capacity.
P1 have had great fun taking part in different initial sounds activities and play.

As part of Book Week Scotland (15th – 21st November), Primary 1, 2, and 3 have received book bags and play resources from the Scottish Book Trust.
We had great fun reading ‘Arlo The lion who couldn’t sleep’ and making lions in class. We hope you are enjoying sharing the stories at home.

After School Club has started!
We are delighted to welcome Danny Peterson from Active Schools, to run our After School Club every Monday.
The club is from 3 – 4pm and for Primary 2 – 7 pupils.
Each week the pupils get to try different sports. This week it was archery.

We have enjoyed welcoming everyone back to school for the start of Term 2.
P1 – 4 have been busy having Halloween and Bonfire night themed fun! Everyone had a brilliant time at the Halloween party on Friday afternoon.

Leigh surprised P1-4 with a visit from her two tortoises Izzy and Jessie. We loved seeing tortoises up close. Everyone was very excited and P1-4 were very gentle. P1-4 asked lots of interesting questions about tortoises and what they need to stay happy. Thank you Leigh for bringing your special pets in to show us!

Phonics and Spelling.

Have you heard the news? There was a moon landing this week! Astronauts from Ollaberry Primary set off on a mission to the moon. Once landed they explored the surface and looked out for aliens.

Before the summer the P4-7 class planted tatties in our two raised beds. The P1-4s helped to harvest one of the beds and found tons of tattie treasure!
They did a fantastic job getting all the tatties dug up. We even managed a little weeding around the front door of the school.
Our pots and the ‘steps’ area at the school are in need of a little TLC. So in the coming weeks P1-4 will be getting on their gardening gloves and sprucing it all up.
If any parents / guardians or members of the community have any suitable plants or bulbs for our pots we would happily welcome donations.
We hope you enjoyed eating the tatties at home!

We are so glad to welcome back all our pupils to Ollaberry Primary for the start of the new school year.
It’s lovely to see all the happy faces ready to learn and play.
Primary 1 – 4 have been busy getting stuck in to lots of indoor and outdoor activities.
They have had great fun in the ‘Space Station.’ We have lots of future astronauts in the making!
