Preparing Healthy Snacks
We have been learning about keeping our bodies healthy. As part of our Health & Wellbeing topic we have been learning about healthy eating and having a balanced diet. We planned and prepared healthy snacks to eat at break time. It was great fun mashing up the avocados to make the guacamole! 🙂

We have been working hard on our personal pieces of writing ‘My Special Box’. We had to take in a box from home containing 3 things. The 3 things were to remind us of a:
- Special place
- Special person
- Special memory
In our pieces of writing we have been describing our special place, person and memory and what makes them so special to us.

Tessellation and M.C. Escher
We have been learning about M.C Escher in maths as part of our ‘shape, position and movement’ topic. M.C Escher became fascinated by mathematical designs and patterns. He did not do well at school but he was a very talented artist. He was inspired to produce his own tessellations. Tessellations are created when shapes are repeated again and again with no overlapping. We have been creating our own tessellations in maths.

Star Writer!
Well done to Thomas who is our new STAR WRITER! Thomas wrote a brilliant personal piece ‘Snapshots of my Summer’. He used a variety of sentence openers, lots of ‘wow’ words and onomatopoeia! Keep up the great work Thomas 🙂

Da Grind o’ da Navir
We went on a school trip to Eshaness last week to learn about Shetland geology. We walked from the Eshaness lighthouse to Da Grind o’ da Navir. We walked over 4 miles, it was a lovely day! 🙂

Lewie’s Presentation
Lewie’s presentation was all about Shetland birds. Lewie made a fantastic poster for his presentation. He wrote the Shetland names for the birds very neatly. Lewie presented his poster to the class confidently, well done Lewie on a super presentation! 🙂

Shetland Peats
My presentation was about peats it’s because I really love working with peats its so fun working with peats. Peat casting has been going on for a long time. I really liked it when people put up their hands and asked questions at the end of my presentation.

Shetland Boats
My poster was about old Shetland boats my favourite fishing boat was a sixareen because it can catch a lot of fish and the fourareen is a foar oared boat I like it so much because it is so fast. I felt confident. I chose old Shetland boats because I like boats and I knows lots of facts about them.
