Nynke took her time and wrote very neatly in her mother’s day card. She was very proud of her writing, well done Nynke 🙂

Our problem solving challenge today was called Robot Monsters. We had to use a head, a body and legs to make our robot. We had to make the shortest and the tallest we could. The tallest was 21cm and the shortest was 14cm. We learnt we could make different combinations using different parts each time. To find more combinations we kept the heads the same and changed the bodies and legs. Here are our favourite robots. We all chose the same head because it was cute and funny.

Today I went to Urafirth Primary School. In gym we did hockey skills for a hockey tournament. When it was break time we played outside. Then I went to art, I made an amulet for Up Helly Aa it was meant to keep the Vikings safe, and then  I designed a fiddle for a competition it has checkerboard pattern which was green and red, and a croft house that I drew myself.

This week was freestyle week! Miss Irvine gave us all the equipment, icing, cutters, glitter, sprinkles, cakes and we got to decorate the cakes any way we liked. Have a look at the finished results 🙂

Vaila chose Susan Boyle as her ‘famous Scot’ to present to the class. It was very interesting when Vaila showed us Susan Boyle’s first audition on ‘Britain’s got talent’. We could see the judges and the audience rolling their eyes when Susan walked on, thinking that she wouldn’t be very good. Then Susan started to sing and everyone was amazed at how good she was. This teaches us not to judge people based on how they look. Susan’s talent was amazing, Vaila told us all about what Susan has achieved, she has done very well for herself because she never gave up on her dream. Another lesson from Susan’s story! Fabulous presentation Vaila, well done you! 🙂

Scott chose Sir Alex Ferguson as his ‘famous Scot’ to present to the class, he prepared a poster at home with different pictures and information. Scott told the class about Fergie’s success and all the trophies he won with the football clubs he managed. The main part of his presentation was about the 26 years Fergie was manager of Manchester United, Miss Irvine loved this part! 🙂
