Vaila was an absolute star! She gave a confident performance and was given a SILVER PLUS!
Well done Vaila, we’re all very proud of you. 🙂 Big thank-you to our amazingly talented kitchen assistant Sharon who played the guitar and piano for Vaila.

We were all dressed in Fair Isle Ganseys yesterday for the music festival. We were singing as part of the Northmavine Choir with all the bairns from Urafirth and Ollaberry Primary School. We sung the Shetland dialect song ‘Farewell to Yell’ and we got a SILVER PLUS for our performance! We were so happy 🙂

We’re learning about time in maths. Primary 2 and 3 had to complete a clock challenge within a time limit. They really impressed Miss Irvine as they completed the challenge correctly within the time limit… with about 1 minute to spare! Well done bairns : )

We were delighted to see the shields we painted on the galley. We went to see the galley with the pupils from Ollaberry and Urafirth Primary School, we had a fantastic afternoon with them. 🙂

We were so excited when the Jarl Squad came to our school. It was a tight squeeze in the hall with the whole squad and all the visitors. The Jarl Squad sang the Up Helly Aa song and rolling home then we got to hold some of their weapons! The Viking Princesses looked lovely, they let the bairns try on their outfits. We had a boston two step before the Jarl Squad made for the North Roe Hall for some mince and tatties!

We were so excited to receive letters from primary 2 at St. Nicholas Primary School in Broxburn. Their topic this term is Katie Morag and so they were asking us what it is like living on an Island. We really enjoyed reading all the letters, we have replied to the letters and will be posting them this weekend! Thank-you primary 2, we hope you enjoy reading our letters.
