#hotchocfri

Vaila was our STAR pupil this week. She enjoyed her hot chocolate treat today! Vaila has been star pupil for her kind and caring nature. Vaila is very patient with the younger pupils, always offering to help them and looking after them in the playground. A well deserved hot chocolate! Well done Vaila 🙂

Rhyming Words

Yesterday primary 1 and 2 received another letter from the magic dragon of Fairyland. Their Fairyland adventures took them all the way to Jack and the Beanstalk. They had a great time learning all about the day Jack met a giant! Robbie, Nynke and Dana had to use the magic beans to make rhyming words. They did a fantastic job! 🙂

A Balancing Act!

Robbie did very well balancing objects and walking across the room to the hoop. At first it was too easy for him so Miss Morrison decided to make it harder and he still did it no bother!

He made a happy, sad and worried face today, thinking about what the Gingerbread Man felt at different parts of the story.

Our Kindness Wreath

We are so happy because we have filled our kindness wreath! Our kindness wreath started with no ribbons on it, when someone did or said something kind, Miss Irvine would add a ribbon to the kindness wreath. When the wreath was full, Miss Irvine said we would have a party to celebrate all the kind things we said and did! We’re looking forward to our party next week…kindness is contagious! 🙂

Having fun baking!

We had fun baking with Miss Morrison yesterday! We used our numeracy skills to calculate how much ingredients to weigh and worked well together to make the Gingerbread Men.

We also enjoyed decorating the Gingerbread Men and showed good piping skills. We then shared them with the class and everyone thought they were delicious! 🙂

Shoebox Appeal

Thank-you to everyone who donated items for the shoebox appeal. It was tricky covering the shoeboxes in paper but we managed it! We had to use our problem solving skills and work as a team.

The Gingerbread Man

img_2502 img_2503

We had lots of fun playing a maths game with Miss Morrison. First we had to draw a BIG gingerbread man on paper. Then we had to very carefully, cut the gingerbread man out. We used our counting skills to add up some sweeties for our gingerbread man, then we used our addition skills to add up how many sweeties we had used.

A Letter from Daniel the Dragon

img_2509img_2507img_2517

Miss Morrison read the letter to us. It said:

Dear Nynke, Dana and Robbie

I am Daniel, the Dragon of Fairyland. I have a very serious problem, my home ‘Fairyland’ has disappeared. I am very sad because me and my fairytale friends have nowhere to live.  The King of Fairyland says our land has disappeared because children have stopped believing in magic. To make our land come back again we need more children to read fairytales and believe in the magic of Fairyland.  Can you help me?  Can you ask your teacher to tell you all about the magic of Fairyland? If you learn lots about Fairyland and believe in it’s magic then our land might come back one day.

From Daniel

We were so excited, we decided our new topic should be called ‘Fairyland’. We are going to learn all about the magic of Fairyland to help Daniel the Dragon and all his friends.

A Glitter Trail…

When we came into school on Thursday morning there was a HUGE GLITTER TRAIL!!!! We noticed that the window was open, the glitter trail went all the way from the window to our story corner. We were so excited! A letter had been left in the story corner. The envelope said ‘To Nynke, Dana and Robbie’.  img_9582
