p7 had a brilliant day learning about STEM opportunities within Shetland.  They used power tools to put trusses on a roof, experienced the navigation simulator- steering the Northlink ferry!  They designed and created pylons and electricity cables and programmed robots.  They met lots of exhibitors asking them questions about their stem journey.  Pupils were encouraged to engage by gaining a raffle ticket for every question they asked.  At the end of the afternoon one of the boys won a Kindle Fire.  SSE sponsored the event.  Our pupils got so much out of it and loved all the freebies!
