p1 and 2

P1/2 Week 3 – We started Drawing Club this week! We read ‘Dear Zoo’ and have drawn 4 focused pictures this week. Ask your child what they drew. Our linked vocabulary words were – gifted captured, slippery, return, disapprove, grateful and scaly. P2 have practised forming the letters ‘o’ and ‘a’ correctly and wrote some rhyming words. P2 have also been practising spelling 4 letter words which have initial blends (words that begin with sl, br, fl etc).

The class have also enjoyed counting and number work this week, making dens, loose part outdoor play, bingo, water colour paints, drawing on an easel and ‘Dear Zoo’ has inspired animal based block play!

P34

This week p34 have been to Screenplay to watch Shorts for Wee Ones.  They really enjoyed the variety of films.  They’ve also been taking up the tatties which will be served up at lunchtime next week.

p56

P5/6 were very lucky this week. As a class we headed off to Mareel to see the very funny movie Oink! We all really enjoyed ourselves. We continued with our learning of number value and the 4 time tables. We wrote fantastic stories about our “perfect weekend” and discussed force and motion both on Earth and in space!

P67 have performed their peer pressure plays in assembly and conducted edible experiments on Forces.  P7 have also attended a STEM event organised by the Navy.  They really enjoyed this. They have been working on addition strategies and recount writing.
