Friday 16 February

The children requested to make playdoh and ‘hulk’ slime this week.  Lots of glitter and turmeric were used in the playdough to give it a lovely golden colour.  The children were all very keen to get involved in the measuring and mixing of the dough.  The ‘Hulk’ slime came out very sticky.  It was a great experience to get the children involved in exploring different textures.

The children have still been very interested in the math cubes this week.  They have been using them to make patterns, and developing their fine motor skills in connecting the pieces together.   The favourite activity is to see how long a line they can make with all the  pieces.  Here they were seeing how many children could fit alongside their big line.

We explored the ‘Dark Den’ room this week.  The children really enjoyed getting to use the different equipment.  There was lots of opportunities to develop their gross motor skills, climbing up and down the steps and jumping onto the big mat.  The tunnel also turned into a great place to hide and to practice their hand eye coordination when throwing the beanbags in.

It was the last week of dancing with Maria this Friday.  The children have really enjoyed this.  Particularly playing musical statues and Simon says.
