We are  expecting  schools to be open tomorrow, Wednesday as normal, but if we receive any further notification  tonight or in the morning then we will let you know.  Otherwise we look forward to seeing all the children tomorrow.

All schools and nurseries  closed again due to adverse weather.   Hope you all managed to have a bit of fun in the sun and snow today.  Do share photos through Teams.  First time I’ve seen snow like this for several years so couldn’t resist a walk- but it was cold!  Keep warm and take care if you do have to travel.

We have had word that all schools in Shetland are closed due to the snowy weather.
Please keep an eye on the local press/Facebook etc. for any further updates over the coming days. For now, hock out the sledges!

Parent Council will be meeting on Monday 16th January at 7.30pm in NOOSC.  All welcome to come along.  This is now postponed till next week

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you are now aware, industrial action is planned again by the teaching unions for next Tuesday 10^th January.  If this goes ahead as planned, the School will be closed for primary aged pupils, however the Early Years Nursery will be open as normal.

Also NOOSC will be open  9am to 4.30pm  on Tuesday 10^th  to offer childcare for any primary age child who may need it.  Please complete the booking form if you would like  your child to attend.

If the industrial action does NOT  go ahead then NOOSC will revert to normal hours.

School, Nursery and NOOSC will be open as normal unless weather changes drastically over night.  The school site is very icy so please take care to stick to areas where grit has been put down and tread carefully.

Schools and early learning settings in Shetland will remain closed tomorrow, Thursday 15 December, with the continued wintry weather conditions and power supply problems.

With temperatures forecast to fall below freezing tonight, uncertainty over access to side roads for school transport across Shetland and the ongoing disruption of power supply across the islands, the decision has been taken for schools and early learning settings to stay closed tomorrow, for the safety of pupils and staff.  Fair Isle Primary School will, however, remain open.

The Eric Gray Centre at Seafield will also close tomorrow.
