Hi, this is Freya, Campbell and Rebekah writing. I hope you enjoy reading this blog on what we’ve been doing this week!
World of Work 1. Jennifer Briggs came in to talk about her job and what she does. It was really fun and we learned lots of interesting and gross facts about the human body. We loved it! We all really enjoyed getting to use some of the equipment from her doctor’s bag too.

World of Work 2. Liam Adamson came in and spoke about what he did when he was younger. He explained that after finishing at SJHS, he moved from S4 to S5 at Anderson High School. However, shortly after starting there, an apprenticeship job opportunity came up that he decided to apply for. He only spent around five weeks at Anderson before leaving to begin an apprenticeship. The job involved working on ferries that travelled between the islands in Shetland.

Thanks to Jennifer and Liam for coming in to visit us.
Sustainable Squad. This week for Sustainable Squad we were learning all about Marine animals and their adaptations. We all created posters about the animals and how they have adapted based on the environment or based on their physical features. Campbell and I used what we learned to make bookmarks for everyone in the class. Here are some of the facts we included.
Bottlenose Dolphin. Fun fact: Their nostrils migrated to the top of their heads to form a blowhole, allowing them to breathe at the surface.
Seals. Fun Fact: To endure deep-sea diving, seals evolved a high tolerance for lactic acid and can store large amounts of oxygen in their tissue and blood.

We hope you have enjoyed reading our blog.
