Term 4 Week 6

Homework Projects – A Time in History. On Monday, everyone presented their personal projects about a chosen time in history. We learned about such a wide range of topics and events and I am so impressed with how confidently everyone presented their work. We were even treated to sweeties and jelly during some of the presentations. It was absolutely to see how prepared and organised people were in sharing their work. Great effort!

Maths. For maths, we have been starting each day with our ‘5-minute flash’ task. We have different topics and 5 minutes to complete 30 questions. We are racing against ourselves to get quicker times and it allows us to practice different skills from addition and subtractions to fractions to time. We’ve also been learning about area, perimeter, co-ordinates, weight and volume. We’ve done different practical tasks as well as having a competition to design a zoo, whilst focusing on the area and perimeter of the animal enclosures.

This or That – Habitat Heroes. This week we’ve been learning about ‘The Wetlands’. We got to choose if we wanted to work together or individually to create a poster or presentation about ‘The Wetlands’ making sure to include information about the climate, key features, animals and plants. The results were fantastic and everyone worked hard to ensure their work met all the criteria and was thematic. Well done P5/6/7!

Big Question – Unique Powers – Real-world Impact! This week we have been learning about the different skills and qualities people can have and how they link to different jobs and careers. We created our own superhero posters highlighting our own skills and qualities and linked them to our dream job.
