National 5/Higher Music Practical Prelims
Week beginning 20 November 2023 – every pupil will be timetabled for a 20 minute slot during the week. Pupils should be prepared to play as much of their performance programme as they can.
Advanced Higher Music Practical Prelims – Week beginning 12 February 2024 – every pupil will be timetabled for a 30 minute slot during the week. Pupils should be prepared to play as much of their performance programme as they can.
National 5/Higher final performance exams will take place the at some point between mid-Feb and mid-March. The preferred time will be the second week in March 2024 but this will only be confirmed towards the end of January 2024. Each pupil is given an individual exam time. They should come to the Music department 30 minutes prior to their exam time to warm up/get organised ready to start their exam on time.
Advanced Higher final performance exams will take place within the examination period of end of April and mid -May 2024. Date will be confirmed once Visiting Assessor has been appointed (beginning of April 2024)
N5/Higher Music Technology – completion of course work by date yet to be decided – potentially beginning of March 2024
Completion of Composition Assignments (all levels – N5/H/Ad H) – date yet to be decided – potentially beginning of March 2024
24 April 2024 – Understanding Music listening exams (all levels – N5/H/AdH)
29 April 2024 – N5/H Music Technology written exam
Results day – 2024 presentations – 6 August 2024
