National 5/Higher Music Practical Prelims – Week beginning 10 November 2025 – every pupil will be timetabled for a 20 minute slot during the week. Pupils should be prepared to play as much of their performance programme as they can.
Advanced Higher Music Practical Prelims – Week beginning 9 February 2026 – every pupil will be timetabled for a 30 minute slot during the week. Pupils should be prepared to play as much of their performance programme as they can.
National 5/Higher final performance exams will take place mid-February – mid-March. It is hoped it will be the week beginning 23 February 2026 but will be confirmed nearer the time. Each pupil is given an individual exam time. They should come to the Music department 30 minutes prior to their exam time to warm up/get organised ready to start their exam on time.
Advanced Higher final performance exams will take place within the examination period of end of April and mid -May 2026. Date will be confirmed once Visiting Assessor has been appointed (beginning of April 2026)
Completion of Composition/Music Technology Assignments (all levels – N5/H/Ad H) – Friday 6 March 2026
27 April 2026 – Understanding Music listening exams (all levels – N5/H/AdH)
8 May 2026 – Music Technology written paper.
Results day – 2026 presentations – 5 4 August 2026
