Fun Time In Drama

On the 8th of October, we had a lady called Sian Thomas came in to teach us drama. First we stretched our muscles (it is really really important that you stretch your muscles otherwise you could end up breaking your spine! which cannot be fixed! ) Next we played this naming game; where we said our name then did a pose. For example you could do a karate move or a fashion model pose. We timed ourselves to see how fast we could do it in; our first attempt was 45 seconds; our final attempt was 42 seconds.

Bending down and making monkey noises! 🙂

Next we had to think of  a character who we could act out, then we got into a line facing each other, then we went around like a factory conveyor belt; talking for 30 seconds learning about other peoples characters. Then we got in groups I went with Mia and Melissa. Our script went like this:
Where: London Olympics

Who: James (Melissa’s character) Lacey (Mia’s character) and Karen the Mischief (my character)

What we did: We pretended to be have play fight and pretended to do warm ups.

Getting ready for our play fight!

Grade exams

I play fiddle and piano. For my fiddle I am doing my grade 2. I need to do lots of scales. I need to learn some tunes and I need to sight

read. I am learning Spootikerry which is a tune not for grades, Jeanie’s Blue E’en and I need to learn the waltz that goes with it. I am doing grade 1 for piano.  I need to learn quite a lot of scales. I need to learn a tune from each section and they are 3 sections. In the first one I am learning Fugue, and in the second one I am doing Moderato and in the third one I am doing is Chattanooga Choo Choo but I haven’t started that one yet. I have to practice everyday and I enjoy it.

Dino Day!

On Thursday we went to a museum in Lerwick and there was a triceratops skull in the museum and we learned all about dinosaurs but after lunch we learned about the history of wool and sheep.  I was shocked when I was really actually looking at a real triceratops skull that lived 65,000,000 ago. We made clay modles of a triceratops skull and we drew a triceratops skull.

Dinosaur Adventure

On the 3rd of October we went to the museum in Lerwick. It was a pouring wet day. When I woke up the power was off and on and it was hard to get ready. We couldn’t have toast because the sockets went off. We had to be at school by 8.20 and we were at home at 4.30.  We got a chocolate cream Oreo when we arrived as a snack. I saw a Triceratops skull. It was giant. We put our jackets in a big chest then we drew a picture of the dinosaur skull and did a quiz.  I learned a fully grown Triceratops was about 10 meters long. We stood in a really long line with us all in it to show how long that would be. We dressed up and played with some toy dinosaurs. Our guide man was called Steven. He let us hold fossilized dinosaur poop. The stone was smooth. We stayed for 2 hours at the museum. Me and Charlotte had to bring in the boxes with the pack lunches. We made mini clay Triceratops skulls. I had a tuna sandwich in my pack lunch and I also had a sausage roll, a piece of pizza and fruit and a custard cream.
