First we looked at the bear in the bear star constellation we could see the Plough then Orions belt and the Seven Sisters and then we had a break.

Chinese Dumplings

Yesterday we made Chinese dumplings with Mrs Zhang. You make the dough with some plain flour and some warm water. You kneed  the dough until soft. Next get 2 cabbage leaves and roll them up then chop until fine. Cut up the onion into slices. Next squeeze out all the cabbage juice into a bowl then add the onion. Add a dash of salt, soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix up the vegetables and snap the dough into little pieces. Roll out the dough and put some filling in the middle. Pinch together the dough and put them into a pan of boiling water for 10 minutes. Take them out and they are really yummy!

Chinese Year of The Monkey

These past few weeks we have been learning Mandarin Chinese with Mrs. Zhang. As well as learning Mandarin Chinese we have been learning about China. 2 weeks ago we made Chinese Zodiacs……………Zodiacs are a Chinese way of telling how old you are and telling what time it is. Last week we made Chinese lanterns but we didn’t put lights in them because we just made them out of paper. On the top of the lanterns we wrote in Mandarin Chinese, it translated to Happy New Year. Yesterday we learned about Chinese New Year. We saw lots of AMAZING! pictures of Chinese lanterns and a great video of a dragon. Also yesterday we made Chinese dumplings.

A Chinese zodiac is a circle divided in twelve sections. There is an animal in every section. On the Chinese zodiac this year is the monkey year.On Chinese new year Chinese people hang up their lanterns and then they admire the lanterns.

Safer Internet Day

Yesterday was Safer Internet Day and we talked about  safety on the internet. If you are being cyber bullied tell someone straight away don’t hide it. You can also block the person or report them to the internet police CEOP or even the local police. Also remember to log out of your account because someone could hack your account and say mean things to your friends which look like they are from you and your friend could be cyber bullied too. Even if people are mean to you don’t be mean back because remember always be nice. Its not just children that get cyber bullied adults do too. Having your account hacked isn’t nice and it could happen to anyone even if they are sure that they are safe online so always remember to log out when your done. Stay safe online.
