Summer Holidays

I have been to Scalloway when I was there I went to the pier Then I went up the gaily way and in to the poop deck of the Settler. The Settler is my Dads boat he use it for farming salmon. I was going to go on the Settler for a day and a half I stayed up quite late watching movies and speaking to the crew at the time. In the morning we went from Scalloway all the way to Lerwick we had to go all the way down to Sumburgh and back up to Lerwick the Journey took 5 hours. It was quite good I took photos and my Dad and some other people pointed out islands and other places. When we got to Lerwick they put a new logo on the side of the boat to get it on the had to in a speed boat so came a long for the ride we dropped the other guy off and the went around the Lerwick Pier. When we got back my mother came to Lerwick and picked me up and brought me home.

Gardening

On Friday we did gardening. One of our P4 picked all the gooseberries of  the gooseberry bush. All of us did the gardening we had to pull out cauliflowers with caterpillars on them. We did not only pull out cauliflower as well we pulled out the weeds. we did a competition.  There were two groups whatever group filled their bag first that team won. our group won.garden photo

Old Haa

We went to the Old Haa to look at an exhibition to do with Alana Spence. The wall displays were Alana’s Paintings. We had a Sketch Books to draw the pictures to remember them. We showed each other our drawings. We did a sketch of the drawings

My Summer Holidays 2016

In the summer holidays I went Camping with Sonia, Filip, Mum and Karolina. most of the time Sonia was at activity camp so it was just me and Filip. I did a lot of things and I probably wont be able to remember all of the things so I will just talk about my highlights.

Me, Filip, Mum and Karolina got ice cream it was really good!

Also just before we went home we watched Sonia performance at Mareel.

Centre Parcs

This summer I went to Centre Parcs with my Mum, Dad and Rosie. It took a while to get there so we only got there at about 5’o’clock. We had to rent our bikes but there was a big queue so we had to wait a long time. Then we went 10 pin bowling. Near the end of the bowling I was picking up a bowling ball and another came and hit my finger. The next day I did laser tag with my Dad and pottery painting. On Wednesday we did cheer leading, woodland wheelers and the treasure trail. The next day we did  wall climbing, geocache and hair braiding. On the geocache we won a free bowling so we did that before we went. My favourite part was the wall climbing because I love going up high. Visit to The Settler

Gib and Marianne invited us to visit The Settler whilst she was at Scottish Sea Farms in Scalloway. We were able to watch Daniel controlling the unloading of the salmon which they had brought from Orkney into the processing plant. Gib gave everyone a tour of the boat; the older ones went down into the engine room with Neil, the engineer. Thank you very much to Gib and Marianne and the crew!

Our Trip on Mainland

First we went inside Mareel and then there was a T- shirt performance some bits were funny but I liked it we sat on benches. There were mostly gymnastics with the T-shirts. After we went to the Met Office and Jenny showed us around and we wrote our names on the weather balloon. Then we watched the weather balloon go up. Then we rode the bus to Scalloway and there in a playground we ate our lunch it was fun in the playground, but we soon had to go to the Scalloway museum. In the museum there were lots of interesting things like different boats and mostly history. And  breathing mask from the war period and old money. After  we went to the Scalloway castle there were steep stairs. Then for tea we went to Cornerstone I liked the food there. Then we went home.DSCF1098DSCF1159

101 Dalmations Float At Burravoe Carnival

We were all puppies but our p7 was Cruela Davil. Probably our float was the loudest when we stared to bark and yell. we threw sweets which were spotty marshmallows we did’nt eat them but the sweets looked tasty. We finished the ride at the old pier. There was a barbecue me and my brother had sasauge rolls and on another stall there were ice creams we had them as well. Our float won second prize it was 50 pounds. After we went on the beach. I enjoyed being on the 101 Dalmations float.

Fever Scottish Opera 2016

On Thursday we went to Mid Yell to do Fever. We were the Medics with the Cullivoe School. We arrived at 10 o’clock with the service bus. We were rehearsing to get the words right and do all the actions with the leader. We had a break at 11:00. We went outside to have a fresh air. We were in the upper primary classroom to work on our own groups. We meet in the hall to rehearse. We do the real performance in the afternoon. We started at 2:15 pm.

Rocket Seeds

This term we have been growing rocket seed but not just any rocket seeds one packet has been in space! We planted 100 seeds from each packet. The first 2 seeds germinated in 3 days and the rest took 4. We had to calculate the percentage of seeds that have germinated by day 10. Next we had record  how many days it took the first seedling in each replicate to grow it’s first pair of true leaves. Then we calculated the percentage of seedling alive on day 17. On day 21 we had to measure the seedlings in mm. On day 28 we had to calculate the mean that were alive. Finally on day 35 we had to calculate the percentage of seeds alive.

Burravoe Carnival 2016

This year I have done a different float to the school I did my own float with my friend and my sister and more friends we did a Cop ‘n’ Robbers float we had a moped, a moped is a motor bike. I had lots of fun making it when I was on the school float then I didn’t really help but this time I really did help. We got an old ambulance siren for the float to sound like the police we also had music.
