Small School Sports Rugby 2016

In Small School Sports I was in the orange team in our school I was with Neil, Sonia and Abby and weirdly I was with my cousin. The rugby was really fun we did octopus but everyone was seaweed if we got caught then you had to through the ball in the air three times, in the next game then we had to pass around our waste three times. We played a game of rugby it was really fun then we had to kick it over the post and I completely failed because it couldn’t go over the post it was really bad but it is was fun. At the end they gave out a prize for the best group and it was the orange team so we got a packet of Haribo and I’m exited for next year all ready

Small School Sports Rugby Blue Group

On a Thursday I went to small school sports and the first activity I did was rugby. We had it so we all were put in to groups of 5 but we had adults in our group, so maybe 6 or 7 per group. Then we had game which you had to have some one in the goal and then throw a ball to them to score a point each team had a goal, the game we play of that was very fun I won 5/6 games. we also had a game of octopus but with rugby balls and there were two teams on which was already in the mud, it was really hard although I got two the other side sometimes, I really enjoyed the experience it was a lot of fun this is my last year of this, then on to the next activity.

The Norwegian Ship

On Friday we went on a Norwegian ship before the panto. They had to climb a ladder to put the sails and the other people would  do things with the ropes on the deck of the ship to get the sails up. Then we went on the ship then we look around where we came on the ship. Then we went up the ladder on to the front of the ship it look like we where going to fall of the front of the ship. Then the last bit was the back of the ship. On the back of the ship there was two big stewheels.

The Swimming Gala

On Saturday I went to the Swimming Gala. It was for P6-7. I went last year and this year. I signed up for all the races and relays but I didn’t do all the relays. I didn’t do all of them because Mid Yell already had 4 people in their team so I went with Unst. They didn’t sign up for the back crawl so I couldn’t do it. First I did 1 length back crawl and I got 3rd for that. Next we did 1 length of breast stroke but I didn’t get anything for that. I also did the relay for breast stroke but I didn’t get anything for that. Next it was lunch and medal giving. Next it was 1 length of front crawl and I got a fifth ribbon. After that it was the relay for front crawl and I got a 6th ribbon for that. Over all I did quite good.

Our School Trip at the Shetland Museum

On Tuesday we went to the gallery, after the gallery we went round the whole museum. First we looked at a (not real) house (you can’t go inside the house though) which showed an example of a real house, in the olden times in the 1700. Then we went to the boat place (where the hanging boats are) I played the interactive quiz game about boats while Bradley and Honor dressed up as vikings and scared me. When I finished the quiz game Honor and Bradley undressed their selves and we went up stairs. Phoebe looked into a magnifier at a shell, then I looked and turned the huge round turning circle, it had animals and plants on it and the nature was in the colours of the rainbow, then we went round and looked at other things like the old black car and the light house. Then we went down stairs there we met the younger ones and our teachers.

Lunch at the Play Park

On Tuesday we went on a school trip to Lerwick. At  lunchtime we went to the  King Harald Play Park for lunch. When we were eating it started to rain Abby and I tried to go to a shelter but the rain was going the wrong way and it didn’t work so we went back in the bus and when it was not raining and the little ones were still eating we went and played and it started raining again so we went to the library.5

Trip To The Library

We went to the Library because the Bonhoga Gallery was closed. We looked at non-fiction books. I looked at Roald Dahl. I was about him in his life. We went upstairs to read our books. We looked at the 3d printer. The 3d printer was printing a Turtle out. We went to the check out to make sure that we checked our books out. We looked at the desktop magnifier. We looked at the turtle printing out again and it had got  more layers. We put books on the Magnifier to zoom in to information and pictures. We were looking at more books. I got a Lego book from the non-fiction shelf.

Shoo Rayner Workshop

Yesterday we went on a school trip to the Museum in Lerwick, originally we were going to go to the Gadderie and then go to the cafe and the little ones were going to go to the Shoo Rayner workshop. but then there was a really nice lady that would let us go to the workshop if we wanted to. Honor, Bradley, Phoebe and Sonia still went to the Gadderie but Rosie, Neil and I went to the workshop. The workshop was really fun we got to hear a story about Viking Vik and his brother and sister, the story was kind of disgusting but it was really funny. After we got told the story we had a break and a biscuit, after the break we actually got to draw Viking Vik and I thought my Vik looked quite like the real one.

When I went to the workshop I felt like a little one when I went to the workshop.dscf1312 dscf1318

Howard Towll Exhibition 2016

Yesterday Phoebe, Bradley, Sonia and I went to the exhibition in the museum while the other ones went to Shoo Rayner. The exhibition was by and artist called Howard Towll. All the pictures were based on animals and birds. We brought clipboards so we could recreate some of the pictures. My favourite picture was of an otter hiding in the water.

I drew a dog looking into the sky. I think that was my best drawing of an animal.

Cafe Shetland Museum

We went to the cafe in the Shetland Museum I had a hot chocolate and nice white ice cream and it was delicious. I was there with Sonia, Honor, and Phoebe. We looked at the view of the sea and the incinerator chimney and a massive wind mill. After we also went to the gallery down below the cafe and it was one of my favourite expeditions.

The Library

On Tuesday we went to the Shetland Library. We had 45 minutes to look at and choose books. I chose and read a bit of The Worlds Worst Children by David Walliams. The book is so funny. The book is about 10 of the worst (made up) children. My favourite story in it so far is Bertha the Blubberer. I really liked the part how she pulled out her hair to look like her brother did it but it didn’t work. My least favourite story was Nigel Nit-Boy because it was very gross. I like the Lerwick Library because it is very big and there is a lot of selection.

Science experiment

At school me Lily and Alice did an experiment about making houses out of waterproof materials and before we made our houses we tested lots of things like felt, cardboard and foil. I made my house out of cardboard and the windows were made out of clingfilm the door was made of foil and a roof made out of plastic packaging. The next day we filled a watering can with water and then we poured it on top of my house and it was not waterproof because the walls were cardboard.

Miss Jamieson’s group which had Me, Honor, Bradley, Rosie, Emer, Neil and Phoebe was called Pudsey J and the other group was called PBJ. Instead of doing one big long walk we did it in laps, our route was down to Hannah’s house up the field to Mara’s house down to the Mannor house then into Ryan’s road then back to the school. Team Pudsey J did 5 laps (8.15 km) and team PBJ did 3 laps.

Children in Need Sponsored Walk 16/11/16

We walked from the school to Hannah’s house, then through the gates and the field, past Mara’s house to the Manor house, then we turned around and walked to Ryan’s house, then we walked back to the school, then we started to split in smaller groups because some of us were slower. Every time we came back to school we had a break. On the walk I did 3 laps, at the last lap it started to rain but we did our best to walk back to the school. Through the walk we pretended to be two long trains. At the end of the walk we were all exhausted. I really enjoyed pretending to be trains. We found out that we walked 4.89 km.
