Chinese New Year

We made lanterns for Chinese New Year because that’s one of the things they do at their festival. We each made one. Each one had a different style.  We made them out of cardboard and stuck bits on or cut bits off.  We didn’t put candles in them for a fire hazard. Everybody enjoyed doing it. Some people decided to make it out of wire but then decided it was too hard in the time we had because first you had to make the shape and then cover it in some sort of red paper so every body made it out of card. We hung them all up for decoration.

  1. Dear Mrs. Breyley and Class,
I think your lanterns are absolutely beautiful! I think the students in my class would really enjoy making some o their own.

We are celebrating Chinese New Year on February 9th. The whole school will be having a special lunch that we will all help make.

    How will you be celebrating?

    Mrs. W

  2. Hi Everyone at Burravoe. We are beginning to understand a bit more about wikis at Longhaugh. We are loving all your comments on our blog and we have so much to tell you. Next week we are going to go out in groups to take photos and videos of Dundee and our area which is called Fintry. We will add them to our wiki. We really like the photos of your houses. We will upload some photos of our houses too. You have given us quite a lot of information already – we promise we will give you some information about Dundee very soon!

  3. We must have a think about what we should eat when we celebrate the Chinese New Year – perhaps you could do some research!
