Lunch Menus

At Holmston we do not have an operational kitchen. Our lunches are provided by the Kincaidston Primary Kitchen. Pupils pre-order their lunches in the morning through the online booking system in their classes. Pupils in P1 to P3 are entitled to a free school meal. Lunches cost £2.15 a day.

Pupils bringing a packed lunch may sit in the lunch hall or eat outside.

We provide a three week menu cycle. Menus are subject to local amendments to meet customer requirements and availability.  Vegetarian and special diet meals are available on request, please contact the school for further information.

Suppliers

Our food is sourced from 5 main suppliers who are on contract and provide best value to South Ayrshire Council. Each of these suppliers are based in Scotland and therefore support our economy.

Fresh bakery produce is provided from a local Ayrshire supplier and delivered on a daily basis.

All of our milk comes from Scottish farms, some of which is from farms located in South Ayrshire. Milk is available within nursery schools, primary and secondary schools.

Our Fruit and Vegetable supplier provide a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables from around Scotland and beyond. Where possible our supplier buys from local growers within the Ayrshire area and supplies this produce to schools.

The butcher meat that is used is 100% British with approximately 80% being Scottish and of that 15-20% being locally sourced from Ayrshire farms.

One of our suppliers uses a local Food Group in their supply chain that has manufacturing sites in Prestwick and Dumfries.
