On World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March 2017 and to celebrate 30 years of Where’s Wally, we will be having a ‘Where’s Wally’ Day of fun and activities in school and in our Early Years Centre.
Feel free to come dressed as Wally or any of his friends or bring your favourite ‘Where’s Wally’ book to school (remember to put your name on it!)
The pupils were very active this moring during their trip to Newmilns Snow and Sports Complex.
I really enjoyed the tubing because we managed to get into loads of different formations and groups to go down together.
I really enjoyed doing the tubing because we could go down with our friends or go down our self and get spun around really fast.
I didn’t like the skiing part because we were only on the nursery slope and couldn’t get much speed.
I liked the skiing because we got to try new things and had to do limbo but leaning forward.
The tubing was really fun and if you got spun you went faster.
When we were doing the skiing it was very hard to walk up the hill in the ski boots. Going down was quicker than going up!
I enjoyed the skiing and doing the turns. I’m surprised I didn’t fall.
We made baking soda volcanoes as part of our ‘In the News topic’, as we seen a volcano erupting on the news.
As part of our news topic we have been learning about volcanoes and we are now making own.
I liked getting my hands sticky.
I liked using the glue and paper.
I liked using the clay for the bottom.
I liked scrunching the paper.

Pupils, parents and staff have all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of Scottish fun at our Burns Supper.
The food was lovely and we were entertained by the very talented pupils. The poems and songs were performed perfectly……. let’s not forget the fantastic toasts which were written and delivered by the P7 pupils.
Last Friday we had the privilege of visiting the Outlander set in our very own village!! We had been invited as special guests and our harbour looked like it had never looked before. We were delighted to have this opportunity and it was amazing to see the transformation within Dunure. We spoke to the to one of the bosses and learned all about his job, he was the art director. We also spoke to the locations manager. They both told us about the many jobs involved in creating a TV show or film. We were intrigued to find out more about these jobs and continued with our research back in the classroom. Full reports on this experience will be available in the school newspaper at the end of the term.
