About us

We are supported by a number of staff from across the school (RE Generalists) who are involved in the teaching of S1-S6.

Pupils have two periods of Religious Education each week in all year groups.

Each year group has the opportunity to learn about their House Saints and will be provided with opportunities to visit the school Oratory for prayer moments and to celebrate Holy Mass.

In S1 pupils follow the Diocese of Paisley RE course which consists of the following:

Human Life: What’s it all about?

The Covenant and Gospel of Mark

The Sacraments and the Virtuous Life

Pupils also study Judaism and Called to Love

In S2 pupils learn about the following:

Islam

The Prophets

Luke’s Gospel

The Holy Mass

Called to Love

The Life of Jesus

Called to Love

Why choose RMPS S2

 

In S3 pupils learn about the following:

Sikhism

Called to Love

Justice and Peace

The Mystery of God

They also complete the SQA Religion, Beliefs and Values award at level 4.

 

In S4 pupils learn about the following:

Called to Love

Evil and Suffering

Crime and Punishment

Christianity

Their course work allows them to achieve National 4 in Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies.

Why choose RMPS S5

 

In S5 and S6 pupils complete the SQA Religion, Beliefs and Values award at level 5 or 6. The topics covered are:

Prayer and Spirituality

Volunteering

Medical Ethics

Called to Love

From S3 pupils can choose  the following SQA courses:

  • Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies (Nat3-5)

From S5 pupils can choose from the following subjects:
