Entry/Exit and Uniform Update (18.2.21)

Dear Parent/Carer,

We look forward to welcoming your child back to St James’ Primary School on Monday 22 February. Our aim is to make the transition back to school as smooth as possible for the children.

Entry and Exit

The school day will begin at 9am and finish at 3pm. Please avoid being early or late to reduce crowding. Please note the school gates will be closed promptly at 9am. After this time pupils should enter via the front door of the school. Teaching staff will be in the playground to welcome their class back on Monday.  We respectfully ask that parents do not access the school playground for the safety of all.

Primary 1 should enter and exit via the Porterfield Road gate.

Primary 2 should enter and exit via the Victoria Drive West gate. The P2 gate will be clearly marked.

Primary 3 should enter and exit via the Victoria Drive West gate. The P3 gate will be clearly marked.

The arrangements in place for siblings to enter and leave via the same gate prior to Christmas will still be in place.

Home to school transport arrangements will continue to be in place for children who are entitled. Please remember that children are required to wear face coverings on school transport.

Please remember to keep two metres distance from people outside of your household when waiting for your child to come out of school. Wearing a face covering is also strongly encouraged.

Uniform

Children should continue to wear the informal uniform of white polo shirt, grey/black jogging bottoms and grey/black jumper on their return to school. All children will be participating in outdoor learning daily. It is essential children have a waterproof jacket and appropriate footwear. It would be helpful if children also brought a change of clothes with them each day.
