School Meals Grant

Children of parents receiving income support or income based job seekers allowance and in some cases child tax credit, are entitled to a free midday meal.

School Clothing Grant

Grants for footwear and clothing for children are available to parents receiving:

• income support;
• income based job seeker’s allowance;
• pension credit;
• housing benefit;
• council tax benefit; or
• depending on annual income, child tax credit or working tax credit.

How to Apply

Information and application forms for free school meals and clothing  grants are available from schools, registration offices, customer service centres or may be downloaded from the council’s website.
