Kids Church – Palm Sunday

Welcome to the Palm Sunday.  We hear about Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds were really excited to see him.                                                                                                                                        You are asked to think about how you welcome people, especially the stranger.                                                                                                                    Remember what it is like for you when you experience a welcome into a new group.

Happy Lent

Kids Church – 5th Sunday of Lent

Welcome to the Fifth Sunday in Lent.  We hear about the wonderful miracle when Lazarus is raised from the dead.  How amazing it is for us to hear about the power of God who can raise the dead to life.  When we hear this, we pray that our lives will be changed and we will find hope and joy.  We pray that we will bring that hope and joy to others this week and always.

GIFT

Everyone is welcome to join us after mass this weekend for 15 minutes.  Just gather at the front of the church when mass has ended.  The theme is about living life to the full and that is for everyone.

You just have to be part of the session, no need to talk or answer questions.  Looking forward to seeing you there.

Gaelic Parent and Carer Meeting

Interested in your child learning entirely in Gaelic when they go to primary school?

There’s an online information session for parents and carers to find out more on Wednesday 29 March at 6.30pm.

Children learning through Gaelic receive their normal lessons but instead of speaking, writing and reading in English, they do this in Scottish Gaelic. This is known as Gaelic Medium Education and means the classroom is fully immersive in the language. Gaelic Medium Education is offered within our existing Gaelic provision at West Primary School.

Anyone in Renfrewshire can choose to register their child to learn through Gaelic at West Primary from Primary 1 onwards. You don’t need to live nearby the school to attend.

At the meeting, Jennifer McHarrie from Bòrd na Gàidhlig (the public body responsible for promoting Gaelic development across Scotland) will be there to give an overview of what parents and carers can expect from Gaelic Medium Education and answer any questions.

You need to register to attend on the eventbrite website.

Kids Church – 3rd Sunday of Lent

Welcome to the Third Sunday in Lent.  We hear about the woman who meets Jesus at the well.  Where will we meet Jesus this week? Will it be in our relationships, our work, in silence or in prayer.  Wherever we meet Him, let us listen carefully to his message to us.

UNCRC Rights of the Child Booklet

The UNCRC Rights of the Child Booklet is now available below.  This resource provides information for parents, carers and family members about children’s rights and introduces the UNCRC.  To find out more about why the booklet was created click here.

The UNCRC is the internationally mandated children’s rights treaty, which sets out the rights that all children and young people should expect and what they need to grow up happy, healthy and safe.  The treaty outlines the central role played by parents and families and recognises that they also need protection and assistance to support the rights and wellbeing of their children.
