Today we celebrate the great Feast of Pentecost, the birth of the church and a great day to thank God for all the gifts we have received.
Take time to reflect on the Gospel and work through the discussion points at home. If you can help your child to colour in the picture on the worksheet, it can give you time to explore how the disciples would have felt and how we can bring the good news to those close to us.
Maybe you can share your memories of being confirmed and you might even have some photographs to prove it. Enjoy sharing those memories and thank God for all those who have been part of your faith journey.
CatholicErskine are working together with Erskine Churches Together to help the asylum seekers who are currently staying in a local hotel. One of their assignments is managing a shop to provide clothing.
Perhaps you could look through your wardrobe and identify clothes and trainers that are in good condition but you no longer wear.
If you can help, they are looking for –
trainers (men’s sizes 40 to 44 and women’s sizes 36 to 40)
hoodies
track suit bottoms
jeans,
dark self-coloured t-shirts (men’s sizes 28” to 36” S,M,L and women’s sizes XS to M).
Donations can be dropped off before 9:30am Mass at St. John Bosco Church (Tuesday or Thursday) or St. Bernadette’s Church (Wednesday or Friday).
The Easter season is a great time to be exploring Gospels with your family and thinking about the real joy of Easter.
There is so much to do and by talking and praying about the Resurrection of Jesus we can grow in faith together.
Please take time to look at the resources for Sunday and try to learn the hymns and songs. Singing the hymns really helps to celebrate the new life that we have been given.
As always you can use the CAFOD resources to support your family time during the Easter Season and it is a great support for anyone who is receiving the Eucharist for the first time or being Confirmed. It is a very joyful time for both parishes.
