Nativity Live

Bishopton Primary School will be streaming our nativity performances live on our Twitter feed (technology permitting) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9.30a.m. This will mean that those disappointed by the fact that we can only allocate 2 tickets per family will still be able to watch the performance, albeit remotely.

We hope that friends and family enjoy the opportunity to be part of this special event.
You will find the live stream at https://twitter.com/BishoptonPS

Week Beginning 11th December

Good afternoon!

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.

Homework

Because the children have completed their assessments for this term, and since it’s the last full week of this term (and a very busy one at that!) I have decided to  not give any homework this week. I will be collecting in word walls at the end of the week so that the children may have new ones for term 3.

News

Tomorrow is our Nativity show! Details can be found on your ticket, but it is our hope that we will begin around 9:30am. Your child must wear their white shirt, a tie and a Christmas accessory– even if it is just a bit of tinsel! The children have worked so hard on their performance and cannot wait for their show.

Christmas jumper day is on Friday 15th December.  The children can wear their Christmas jumpers to school.  A donation can be made to Save the children that day if possible. The children can also take part in a design the jumper competition for 20p.  Jumper design sheets will be given out tomorrow if they wish to take part.  Entries should be handed by Thursday so that the winners can be chosen.

Christmas lunch is on Friday 15th December.  All orders have been taken and given to the dinner ladies.  Remember Primary 2 do not need to pay for this as P1-3 are all entitled to free lunches.

Have a lovely week, and we’ll see you tomorrow for the show!

Please continue to revise the wordwalls.  A new wordwall will be given out in the New year.

No spelling as we are revising our common words in class.

P2B Nativity information & Woodland Walk

Good evening,

The children have been working hard in rehearsals and are excited to perform for you at next week’s nativity. We ask that P2B wear their white shirt, tie and a Christmas accessory (no flashing lights).

All children in P2B will have their nativity on Tuesday 12th.

Unfortunately, due to the current weather forecast, we have decided to postpone our woodland walk, but we hope to do it sometime next week instead.

P2R Christmas show information

The children have been practising their songs and instruments all week.  On the day of the Nativity show (Wednesday 13th Dec for most)  the children can come in to school in Christmassy clothes.  This could be smart party clothes, Christmas jumpers or just bright colourful clothes.  The children can wear Santa hats etc too if they like.  The children can wear these clothes for the rest of the day after the performance.  A letter detailing this will also be sent out tomorrow with the day of your child’s performance.  We look forward to performing for you.

Thank you

Mrs Fulton

P2R local community walk

Weather permitting this walk is still going ahead.  The children will leave school at 10:45 and return for lunch.  Please ensure your child has a waterproof jacket and wellies if possible.  If the weather is too bad, we will postpone until next week.  A decision will be made in the morning.

Thank you

Mrs Fulton

Week beginning 4th December

Good morning!

Homework

Spelling homework this week is look at y at the end of words  – as in holly, story, sorry, party.

Reading books continue. I won’t be making new wordwalls until next term. Please revise the walls your child has until then. All the children have been working really hard on their reading skills this term.

In maths this week, we are looking at rounding to the nearest 10.  This is quite tricky but we had a really good go! Here is a video we watched in class to help explain rounding to the nearest ten.  I’ve also attached an image of a 100 square to help them further.

News

We are really looking forward to our community woodland walk on Friday (weather permitting!) P2B are just looking for one more adult helper to come along, so if you can make it please write a note in the diary or a note in your child’s hand in the morning.

Nativity rehearsals are well underway and we are very excited to perform for you next Tuesday. Tickets will be given out to the children this week. A letter will also be sent out giving more details about the day (what to wear, etc.).

Thank you for your support during these busy Christmas weeks!
