Mary Russell School would like to extend a warm invitation to any former pupils, staff, parents and friends of the school to join us at the above event to celebrate and give thanks for the 50 years of education and service provided by the school to the community in Renfrewshire.

Main Celebrant – Bishop John Keenan

All welcome.

World Book Day.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! World Book Day 2019 is fast approaching. Official celebrations are on Thursday 7th of March but Mary Russell School will celebrate it on Friday 8th March.

Primary pupils will be doing a variety of activities over the course of the day. If pupils would like to dress up for the occasion as a favourite character then they can, but it is entirely optional. Good ideas for the simplest of costumes can be found on the internet so please do not feel the need to buy anything new, should your child wish to dress up. We hope they all have fun!

Secondary will be doing activities, reading our personal reading books with treats and going on a treasure hunt in teams in our lovely school grounds. We would like as many pupils as possible in S1-S3 to come dressed as their favourite characters from a book they have enjoyed reading. Please don’t feel you have to buy new things, although supermarkets have a good range. We would like to encourage our pupils to be creative with items they have at home. Good ideas can be found on the internet. Looking forward to seeing all the pupils on the day!
